Lionel messi scored a brace and assisted 2 others against Maccabi Haifa on Tuesday night in the UEFA champions league

Lionel Messi on Tuesday night scored 2 goals and assisted two others in a 7-2 win against Isreal side Maccabi Haifa, in their second return leg game in the group stage of the UEFA champions league at the Parc des Princes. His brace in the game gives him an edge above his long-term rival Christiano Ronaldo for most goals scored outside the box in the UEFA champions league

The Paris Saint-Germain forward, Lionel Messi scored two goals and assisted Mbappe and Neymar. His first goal was a gratifying work and assist from Kylian Mbappe in the 19th minute. The septuple Ballon d’Or and former FC Barcelona Maestro then scored his second outside the box in the 44th minute after yet another assist from teammate Kylian Mbappe.

Before the game on Tuesday night against  Maccabi Haifa, the Argentine was in a tie with Manchester United’s forward Christiano Ronaldo with  the most goals scored outside the box in the UEFA champions league, and with the former’s brace on Tuesday night means he has now moved above his eternal rival with 23 goals outside the box against Christiano Ronaldo’s 22
