Jumia Shuts Her Doors in Cameroon

After 7 long years of struggling in the Cameroonian market, the popular pan- African e-commerce company Jumia has shut its doors in Cameroon. A lot of persons in the tech community had seen this happening sooner than later and like an accomplished prophesy, it has happened.

The e-commerce giant reportedly shutdown in Congo and in Gabon earlier before closing its doors in Cameroon, it is noteworthy that since 2012, Jumia has been unable to turn profitable in Cameroon. So, today the company fired all her staff and shut its doors without any press release or statement from any official of the company, talk of burying your head in shame!

This shutdown by Jumia raises the question whether Cameroon is ready to become an e-commerce marketplace. What are your thoughts on this?
