Françoise Mbango Gives Cameroon A Top-Notch Institute To Train Sport Professionals
Cameroonian former Olympic triple jump gold medalist Françoise Mbango is set to launch a Sports training Institute for the training of Sports professionals; The Françoise Mbango Institute of Sports and Physical Education (ISEP-FM).
During a press conference held earlier this week in Yaounde, Françoise Mbango explained that ISEP-FM will be the first institute to provide training in Sports and Physical education in Cameroon and the entire Central African sub region. The Institute will develop future physical and sports education teachers and sports managers. The Institute will also train in science and technology in physical and sports activities, sports management and event management.
Her motivation stems from the fact that such institutes are very limited in Cameroon and most of them do not have the adequate resources to train as many sports professional as possible.
ISEP-FM is situated at Ahala in Yaoundé and will receive its first set of students in October 2020.
44-year-old Françoise Mbango is so far the only Cameroonian athlete to have won a world or Olympic title. She won two gold medals at the Olympic Games in Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008).
