This Hip Hop feud is becoming more exciting as Canada based Cameroon proficient Lyricist MD Lyonga dishes out a new record titled “Truth Retold (Lyrical Joe Contradiction)“.
This 2 minutes 32 Seconds record is deep, tactical, factual and ridiculing! MD Lyonga even in a smart way raps that he doubts Lyrical Joe’s Knowledge of Real Hip Hop by indirectly saying Sarkodie (whom Lyrical Joe Claims is Ghana’s best rapper of all time) is not lyrically fit to hold that title because fast rap doesn’t mean its a better rap.
In this record he also challenged lyrical Joe to come over to the Unstable Anglophone region and see if he gonna last a day.
“Truth Retold” intellectually shows how Lyrical Joe contradicted himself in his raps and came out to be hypocritical. In his raps, he takes shots at Cameroon rappers but in reality, his shot is applicable only to one Cameroonian rapper he had challenged on twitter. Yes, Cameroon is in a state of political upheaval with the weight of genocidal activities from the military but he easily forgets that Ghana also has conflicts like the Konkomba-Nanumba conflict. There’s no Ghanaian rapper attempting to bring peace that we know of. This demonstrates that he’s riding the same wave he’s trying to challenge by using the perils of another country when his country suffers the same reality, just to a lesser degree. And besides, the Ghanaian best rapper is not a lyricist and raps in gibberish. Ghana is the most peaceful country in West Africa, but that peace is not accounted to their rappers or musicians. An African country enjoying peace has everything to do with good men and women who fought colonizers with their blood as it is happening in Cameroon right now. Truth Retold puts the whole story back in perspective.
