The AB Afrikpreneur Team took it upon themselves as an organisation to respond to worries from the public; in a post on their official Facebook page, made an announcement acknowledging the truth behind rumors circulating on social media that their voting site was hacked.
This is what they wrote:
***We have read your troubles with one of our categories at the 2020
As we did last year, and as we announced at the event yesterday, we planned to release ALL results this morning
Many of you have reached out to our organizers and we take responsibility to respond to matters like this that concern the image of our event.
It’s evident that our WordPress website and servers were hacked and manipulated by a third party towards our event and we want to update you immediately we get feedback.
NO TROPHY WAS HANDED UNJUSTLY and if anyone paid a dime for a trophy, please call us out! Just like every other award, we’re subject to criticisms!
Rest assured that we DO NOT SELL AWARDS and will NEVER !!!!!! Some of our winners were even surprised that they’d walk home with a trophy, we’re okay with letting anyone win, regardless!
Congratulations to every winner. Our event was so successful and we’re deeply proud of your hard work
Talk soon with details!
