[Soccer][Sports]: Salah has equalled a record held by Cameroon legend Samuel Eto’o in the UEFA Champions League.
African Player of the year Mohamed Salah was on target in their UEFA Champions League second leg quarter-final when they beat City 5-1 on aggregate to reach the semi-finals.
Not many players can retire having won three Champions League trophies such as Eto’o, but Salah’s 39th goal means he has now scored eight goals in the Champions League.
That feat means he has matched the former Indomitable Lions forward’s record number of goals in one campaign, the highest by an African player in the history of the competition.
Salah has now been directly involved in 50 goals for the Reds across all competitions this season where Eto’o managed to achieve this feat for Italian giants Inter Milan in the 2010/11 season, a year after they won the treble.
