Are Naija Blogs Imposing a Nigerian Identity on Blanche Bailly?

Barely 24 hours to the release of Blanche Bailly’s recent track titled “Mine” featuring Naija’s Joeboy, some Naija blogs have been imposing a Nigerian identity on Blanche Bailly. Several Naija blogs and platform describes the singer Blanche Bailly as a “Nigerian singer”. It is worth mentioning that, this is not the first time such a thing is happening. Naija blogs did thesame with Yung Meagan, when she collaborated with a naija artist. Yung Meagan featured Blaqbonez on her track titled “Energy”, and same Nigerian identity was imposed on her.

Alot of questions must be running through your mind. Like, “Must Naija assume they own every nice thing?”; “Do they think nothing good could come from Cameroon?”; “Can Naija stop with all this ownership wahala?”. e.t.c

Now the issue is this; either enough research weren’t done about  Blanche Bailly, or the assumption thing about Naija also applies here. Never the less, not all Nigerian blogs or platform described Queen Mimba as a Nigerian artist. Nigerian Blogs like Trendy Beatz and OKhype and others did well to identify Blanche Bailly as a Cameroon. Like I said it’s all about research.
