Francis Ngannou Signs Deal With PFL Professional Fighters League
Ngannou's New Deal with PFL Will Allow Him to also Compete in Boxing
Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Francis Ngannou finally signs a multiple-fight contract with one of the world’s top Mixed Martial Arts promotion company – the PFL (Professional Fighters League). This thus put an end to all the controversy that goes around the Cameroonian about his failed deals with UFC, other promotions, and his boxing dreams.
When he became a free agent back in January, fans, fighters, and critics said he made a mistake by not resigning from the UFC.
“When people don’t understand you, what you’re doing, obviously there’s a lot of criticism, but when you’re confident and certain of what you’re doing and where you’re going and aware of achievement, you just have to be patient and welcome the time everybody sees it,” he said.
Francis Ngannou and PFL have all made announcements via social media that they agreed on a “Strategic Partnership deal” that benefits Francis with egalitarianism and management titles in the company and will also help support Ngannou’s boxing endeavors. From the looks of things, Ngannou will make his Pro boxing debut this year and PFL debut mid-next year 2024 though no fights have been set yet.
Talking on his youtube channel, Francis Ngannou says his deal will be the biggest in MMA history and that his first fight in the league will earn him a guaranteed two million US Dollars. Though the exact terms of the agreement, including finances and its duration have not yet been disclosed by both parties but he said.
“Let’s just say, all-in my deal with P.F.L. is more than anyone else offered,”
Another interesting part of the contract is that Ngannou will become the official chairman of PFL Africa, an initiative that will lead to the production of MMA events in the African continent; while also serving as PFL’s advisory board member to represent fighter interests.
