Cameroonian, Dr Joy Alemazung voted as Mayor in Germany
A Cameroonian has been voted as Mayor in Germany. Dr Joy Alemazung, of Cameroon origin was elected Mayor of the Heubach – Germany on Sunday 17th, 2021. Heubach is a municipality located in the South-West of Germany.
Dr. Joy Alemazung was born and raised in Cameroon. He is an executive at the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation in Germany.
Dr Joy is the second Cameroonian to hold a political position this year in a German country. Before that, Armand Zorn, had likewise been elected MP into the German parliament.
During the election, Dr Joy Alemazung had the highest with a percentage of 66.24%. Later on yesterday, he took to his Facebook page to appreciate everyone as seen below;
“Dear citizens,
Dear supporters and dear supporters!
I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your trust in yesterday’s election! This is an incredible proof of trust and I am deeply grateful for. I am happy to be your new mayor in Heubach and to shape the future of our beautiful city together with all of you!
Yesterday I received a wonderful order with high esteem from you. With great passion and dedication, I want to answer this immense trust over the next 8 years. A blooming community and therefore your well being is my primary goal. And we will achieve this goal together. I will always have an open ear for you. I am thrilled by the versatile commitment of all citizens in Heubach, Buch, Beuren and Loutern: Whether in sports, culture, blue light and many more areas of wonderful city life!
