Cameroon and Nigeria inaugurate bridge linking both Nations

The construction Cross River Bridge and its connecting roads began in 2018 as part of the 400 kilometers two way, Bamenda-Enugu corridor.

The newly constructed 1.5km border bridge which links Nigeria and Cameroon is located at Mfum/Skok, Cross River State. The bridge linking both nations was officially inaugurated this Thursday November 3, 2022. The construction Cross River Bridge and its connecting roads began in 2018 as part of the 400 kilometers two way, Bamenda-Enugu corridor.

Cameroon’s President Paul Biya  was represented by the Minister of Public Works, (Mr Emmanuel Njoumessi). Meanwhile, President Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria was represented by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr Zubairu Dada.Cameroon and Nigeria inaugurate bridge linking both Nations

The bridge that connects Mfum in Cross River State in the Federal Republic of Nigeria to Ekok in Manyu Division of the South West Region of Cameroon has been financed by the European Union and the African Development Bank.

On the Cameroon side, the bridge is located on the National Road number 8, in Ekok in Manyu Division of the South West Region. Whereas on the Nigerian side, it is in the Etun local government area, in the Cross River State.Cameroon and Nigeria inaugurate bridge linking both Nations

Reports have it that, the total cost of the project stands at 21,132 million CFA Francs. Which was financed by a loan given by the African Development Bank to Cameroon and Nigeria.
