Breaking News: Cameroonian Musician Fhish dies in horrific car crash

The popular Afrofusion singer Mbonjem Lesly Aponglen, popularly known as Fhish, died after his car collided with a truck. He recently won the last edition of Biggy 237

Popular Cameroonian musician, Mbonjem Lesly Aponglen, popularly known as Fhish, is dead.  The Singer and Head of Gophmen  FHISH dies at 24.

According to the reports, the talented hitmaker met his untimely death in a gory vehicular accident on Friday, December 23rd, 2021 on his way to Buea for a show.

The accident which happened at the Tiko-Douala Road took the life of one other who is believed to be his manager

Reports say the artist ran into a parked truck while driving along the Tiko – Douala road. This incident took his life and that of his Manager Feka Parch. An unidentified girl who was with them in the vehicle survived and is currently in the hospital.

The accident is said to have resulted from excessive speed. And a subsequent collision of the deceased’s car with a static truck is believed to be awaiting repairs.

According to a traveler who arrived at Tiko at about 10 pm yesterday. Reports say the accident occurred between 9:30 pm and 10 pm around the Misselele mixed security checkpoint.

The car was completely damaged. Feka was crushed beyond recognition after the accident. The bodies of ‘Fhish’ and his manager are being preserved at the Tiko mortuary. The fate of the lone person believed to have survived death at the spot is yet to be determined.

Fhish’s death has no doubt thrown the Cameroonian music and entertainment industry into mourning. He was one of Cameroon’s finest musicians who was loved by his colleagues and fans alike.

History

Fhish aka MBONJEM LESLY APONGLEN was born in Bamenda, Northwest region of Cameroon. He was a passionate, vibrant, energetic, and charming singer and songwriter. Likewise an exceptional music and dancing skills.

Fhish started music a couple of years back in his hometown Bamenda. The artist was inspired by music artists like Wizkid, Chris Brown, X-Maleya amidst a multitude. For several years he limited his music in public joints, social gatherings, minor shows, cabarets, and snacks.

It wasn’t only till around 2018 the youngster music sensation decided to fully venture into music. There, he took his traveling bags to settle in the Economic Capital of Cameroon, Douala. His goal was to fully pursue his music career as it has always been a passion.

He saw his breakthrough during one of his performances when Manjong Music picked him up and signed him under the label. Subsequently released his first official project- a music video titled “BONBON SIFFLET”. A masterpiece produced by Pazzo aka Sangtum with a video directed by Adah Akenji. Since then the talented artist has been on fire dropping mind-blowing tracks.

It was only around 2019 the “Anti Kirikou” crooner parted ways with Manjong Music to proceed as a solo independent artist. A dynamic, passionate and focused on making it big in the music scene he didn’t stop there he dropped two street bangers HOLLA HOLLA and ANTI KIRIKOU.

In the year 2020, he recorded another major step in his music career as he signs a collaborative partnership contract with ATM Entertainment after he dropped his debut EP “I’M CAMEROON” now available on all streaming platforms.

His music has been widely consumed in both French and English communities of the nation with so much respect and admiration for his musical prowess.

During the Second Edition of one of Cameroon’s biggest reality shows, the artist Fhish went in for the competition and emerged the winner on the 23rd of November 2021.

On the 1st of December just a week after winning Biggy Studio, Fhish was involved in an accident with his trophy which was badly damaged. Yesterday, he was involved in another accident which took his life and that of his manager Feka Parch. May his soul rest in Peace.

Fhish was not noticed by many between 2018 and 2019, but bounced back in 2020 and featured on the list of top 10 best Cameroon Artists musicians.

He bagged 4 nominations at the MUMA2020 for Best Performer, Best Male Artiste, Best Urban Artiste, Best Album/EP, and 2 nominations for Best Collaboration and Est EP/Album at the Green Light Awards.

It may have seemed as if the artist Fhish had predicted his death. His recent posts on his social media pages may make it look that way. Take a look at some of them;
