Algerian Head Coach Surrenders After Cameroon’s Win
Algerian head coach, Djamel Belmadi has shockingly abandoned his position as head coach. As a result of their failure to qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup which will be held in Qatar later this year. Stunning at Stade Mustapha Tchaker in Algeria: Defending a spot at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Algeria lost to Cameroon.
Karl Toko Ekambi scored a 124th-minute sensational goal, booking Cameroon a spot at the World Cup in Qatar.
During the pre match press conference of Algeria Vs Cameroon, Djamel Belmadi declared;
If we don’t qualify for the world cup, I wouldn’t wait for anyone to sack me, I’ll take my responsibilities”
It should be noted that Djamel Belmadi led Algeria to their first AFCON victory in 2019 after 29 years. The coach also piloted 49 games for the Desert Foxes of Algeria. Of which he won 31 of them, drew in 13 matches and submitted to 4 defeats. And the most recent defeat which stopped his side from grabbing a tag to QATAR 2022.
