AFCON: FECAFOOT President Apologize To Algerian Journalists Who Were Robbed In Douala
Three Algerian journalists covering the African Cup of Nations in Cameroon (AFCON) were robbed and attacked by unknown armed men on Sunday night in Douala
On Sunday night, 09 January 2022, three Algerian Journalists were attacked. The journalists, moving together as a team with other colleagues, were attacked by armed men This happened while they were leaving their hotel in Douala. Some Items taken away from them included a bag containing money, a phone, and a computer.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has reacted to the incident, assuring investigation are on going.
While FECAFOOT President in an interview apologizes to the Journalists involved and the entire Algerian confederacy.
Samuel Eto’o has formerly apologised to these journalists who are receiving treatment in the hospital.
He started; “For you, our dear journalist brothers, I would like to sincerely apologize to you for the attack you suffered in Douala. We ask forgiveness. This is not Cameroonian hospitality, and know that you are at home. We will refer the matter to our minister and all our authorities to tell them that our brothers are in our country and that they must feel safe as if they were in Algiers. That being said, all I have to do is wish you a good match for tomorrow. May God bless you, and above all, may your stay go as smoothly as possible, at home in Cameroon.“
