According to a press release issued by the US Department of Justice, since 2017, Eric Fru and his associates have snuck many fire arms to help separatist fighters battle the Cameroonian government. The list of weapons includes sniper rifles, SKS assault rifles (some of which have bayonets), other rifles, and a number of handguns.

Following the US Department of Justice’s announcement of charges against them on November 28, three US citizens who were born in Cameroon—Claude Chi, Lah Nestor Langmi, and Francis Chenyi—were also detained in December 2022. The three defendants who were detained were accused of conspiring to give financial support to a plot to abduct people and use WMDs in Cameroon.

This is a follow-up complaint from Cameroonian attorneys in the US against 200 or so Americans of Cameroonian descent living in the US who are allegedly involved in separatist activities.
