The Cameroonian Community Grieve as Famed Douala Restaurateur and Founder of Chef Nina Cuisine Dies

Nina Ngassa of Chef Nina’s Cuisine was one of the most versatile female Cameroonian entrepreneurs. The serial Bamileke business woman is an inspiration to both women and men across the border. There’s much more to Nina Ngassa than what meets the eyes. Nina was a hardworking and tenacious lady full of ambitions. She started with Nina’s Slow Boys in Kumba (distributing packaged snails across the world) and later opened Chef Nina’s Cuisine in Douala, which has a been successful.

Growing up in Limbe and the daughter of popular business figure, Pa Ngassa of Ngassa Supermarket Kumba, she schooled at the prestigious Our lady of Lourdes college Mankon, Bamenda and the University of buea.

Chef Nina is amongst the very first entrepreneurs who started processing and selling snails to Cameroonians world over. She was later able to establish her catering business place in Douala, employing others and feeding people during events. Nina and her catering crew could feed about 1000 people across towns and villages.

Nina, who was also a model who was greatly admired by many youths because of her self-styled entrepreneurial skills and the things she was doing. Through her Ngassa Nina foundation, she was the brain behind “Save the Next Generation”. A campaign which was meant to protect youths giving them awareness on sex trafficking and juvenile delinquency plaguing the younger generation.

She was a key speaker in series of conferences, and also a speaker in an upcoming conference “The Next Generation Leading Ladies Conference” which is tagged “The future Famale”. The conference which was to run from the 20th to 22nd of August has been postponed to further notice due to her demise.

Chef Nina Ngassa will be missed by her family, social media friends,  customers and all those she has impacted.
