The leader of the Social Democratic Front (SDF) dies at the age of 82. Ni John Fru Ndi was well known as the longtime leader of one of Cameroon’s most influential opposition parties. Family sources informed Critiqsite that Late Mr. Fru Ndi died on Monday, June 12, 2023, after a protracted illness.
Prior to his death, Ni John Fru Ndi was preparing to host a convention at which a new executive organ would be elected, seeing him step down as Chairman of the Social Democratic Front (SDF). Chaos within the party held things back right to the point the founding leader of the SDF did not live to hand over power.
“I have played my part, it is time for me to rest.” These were the last words of Ni John Fru Ndi, to his family, party members and close collaborators before his demise this night.
