Ego Pride
Ego Pryde is an upcoming artist well known by his artist name Ego Pride. Ego Pride is not just a Music lover but he likes comedy, games, and dislikes being around a crowd when he is not participating. He used to go by the name “Nas Pride” but later changed to “Ego Pride”
He started doing freestyles and music covers in 2020 where he downloads free beats and trains himself to sing. He dropped his first official verse on “Ekie“, a song by his classmate Yxng Pride. He got signed by Tallanga motion pictures TMP in April 2021.
He is a trap/dancehall artist and his power to sing on every beat has made him blend other genres like Mimosa, Cupedecale, and Bikutsi to give his own music genre which he calls “Kamer Kosa”. He recently dropped his first single under Tallanga motion pictures TMP titled “Drink Pami“. Hopefully, he will be dropping a lot more this year.
2. Bwoy Dezz
Jude Fomonyuy is formally known as Bwoy Dezz one of Africa’s most talented Reggae dancehall musicians. He was born and raised in Kumbo, the Northwest Region of Cameroon. Bwoy Dezz inspired by the music legend Bob Malley joined the music industry. His first single was a song titled “Good Morning“. He is currently an artist under the Kush Life Nation music label.
He recently announced the release of his debut album Survival. The album is a 15-track project slated for official release February 5th, 2022, and is a “compilation of songs talking about the sufferation, emancipation, liberation, and freedom of Africa, bad leadership, societal ills, and ghetto youth success.”, according to the aforementioned press release from label Kush Life Nation.
Bwoy Dezz , Cameroon’s reggae and dancehall most exciting and emerging talent and time-tested star, has proven to create captivating music. He can sell the Cameroon music industry to Africa and the rest of the world.
3. Liya
Fung Livirene Lum Yoh who goes by stage name Liya AKA Lovegoddess is a female afro (R&B, Soul, dancehall, pop) singer. She was born on 14 May 1993 and hails from the Menchum Division in North West Region of Cameroon. Liya is loves traveling, arts, poetry, fashion and is God-fearing.
On August 22nd, 2020, Liya released her Debut single titled “Fou You” after her mashups/covers, featuring other artists and humanitarian projects. This spread rapidly and gave fans an increasing thirst for more music. Liya released the song “Pay ma Money” on May 15, 2021. This song has been an ongoing trend with many positive reactions from fans in and out of Cameroon. The song hit more than 55k+ views on YouTube, a milestone many Cameroonian artists face difficulties to reach. She was awarded Best Female Artist at CAMACA awards 2021. At the end of the year 2021, she released a song titled “Sweet Sweet“. Liya is set to give us a whole lot of vibe this 2022.
4. Remii
Currently signed under Kang Quintus Music Records, Remii is a Cameroonian singer and songwriter. He released a single last year titled “Mon Amour” and a collabo with the serial hitmaker Ko-c on the track Ma Vie which made wave.
Remii has been working so hard to give us the best in the music industry. His latest song Yayato featuring Boy TAG has already hit 17k views on YouTube in a space of 6 days. He is bringing more than we could imagine in the Cameroon music industry.
5. Marnick
DIONE MARBEL EPIE EWANE known as Marnick is a Cameroon female hip hop rapper and songwriter, born in Kumba Cameroon. Marnick Started singing in 2016. She began as a studio backup singer and proceeded to record mashups of her favorite songs. Her first single PAJERO was released in 2019. Her first single PAJERO released in 2019. That same year, selected as one of the rising artists to feature on Tzy Panchak’s “Put Your Hands On We” original song after participating in the challenge.
Marnick is making a reintroduction into the music scene with a new sound and energy which best describes her as THE FUTURE. Her comeback can be felt on the hook of “Days Like This” a song by MicMONSTA that features her and label mates Dready Christ and Torch City. Marnick recently dropped a single, “New Journey” and she is set to release her first EP this 2022.
6. Lil Humble
Lill humble is a Cameroonian hip-hop rapper from the North West region of Cameroon, Bamenda. Coming from Kumbo town, Banso. He started rapping in 2014 and is only two years he got into professional rap music.
In this short period of time, Lill Humble has put out 1 studio album,1 EP, 10 singles, 5 international collaborations, and many home collaborations. His latest track “I Remember” is making waves in Cameroon’s hip-hop world and in the music industry. Lil Humble’s songs are inspirational and with this spirit, Cameroon’s music industry will never die.
7. Zee JM
Zee JM is a young rapper, who hails from the Northwest region of Cameroon. He has been an active underground rapper in Bamenda and is known for his rap energy, flow, and his ability to twist. Zee Jm Also Known as Mr. Impecable and can air out more than 100 words identically within one minute.
Zee JM released a song titled “DANGER” last year and since then he has been feeding the music industry with so much vibe. He recently dropped the lyrics video for his song “I Wish“, a song with so many lessons and inspiration. Zee JM is one of Cameroon’s future in rap.
8. Chilli Wawaye
Chilli Wawaye hails from Kumbo in the North West Region of Cameroon. She is a singer, songwriter and a cultural promoter of indigenous sounds and culture. Chilli started singing at the age of 10. She sang with several churches and school choirs where her talents were nurtured.
November last year, Chilli Wawaye released the song “Rèhmti“, this song calls on us to use every opportunity that comes our way to empower ourselves and uplift our communities. Chilli Wawaye uses her music to remind us to remain hardworking and focused in our daily hustle in a bid to build a future devoid of regret.
9. Yxng Prido
Yxng Prido is a young talented Cameroon rapper. He got signed to ATM ENTERTAINMENT in 2020. Prido dropped his first recorded rap freestyle under the record label that same year. Yxng Prido dropped his first official song titled “EKIE” which featured Ego Pride last year.
Yxng Prido has been feeding us with mind-blowing freestyles. Daphne recently dropped a freestyle in which she featured Yxng Prido and 2 others. There is so much talent in the young rapper and we can only see him making a difference in the industry.
The music world is not an easy road to travel. To most of these young Cameroonian artists, I will say don’t give up on your dreams. Keep working and trust me you will get to the top and become the best. Here is a list of some few who made an impact last year and have already started feeding the population with some mind-blowing hits. We hope to receive nothing but the best from them.
