On today’s ” what’s up with the stars” , Shura has announced via a press release the date her debut album #PRIME will be dropping. The event is slated to be on the 24th of October 2021.
The artist was formally signed with Stevens Music which is a US based Cameroonian record lable. Shura shared her fame and strategic attention from her prime times with the likes of Daphne and Boytag who were also signed to thesame lable.
She became a household name and model for her growing Cameroonian fans when she released the song ” Aller dire ” . Just like the song, she was priceless to her fans and up till date, the song still remains a love anthem in both the english and french speaking regions.
Shura however, didn’t return with more music for a while , which kept her fans in suspense. Of course every artist needs some time off, to rehabilitate and come back stronger but for her fans, the wait was excruciating. In 2019 and 2020 respectively , she made a comeback with ” voilà moi ” and “Nyamangoro “. Nyamangoro was not well received by her fans .
Shura hinted the possible release of an EP in the ending days of 2020, which sadly didn’t come through and while her fans anticipated more in 2021, Steve music announced their amicable parting with Shura via a press release on February 15, 2021.
As we can all imagine an artist going solo means they shoulder all the work, strategising and marketting included. so it is safe to say, that Shura is going back to the genesis of her career. This is evident as she now owns a new youtube channel [ Shura mama official ] . She is obviously rebranding. Which is one of the many advantagies of going solo, having creative control and just doing you. While this can be hard work and very challenging for many, Shura has the advantage of being bilingual and able to eloquently express herself in both languages. She’s forging her way through the Francophone market.
The artist only months after leaving Stevens Music record lable has started her own record lable which is being controlled by Shura herself. Talk about being a boss lady.
