Fru Shura Tatiana better known by her stage name Shura, is a Cameroonian Afro Pop, R&B, Afro Jazz, Afro Soul artiste, song-writer, composer, actress, and entertainer. Shura has had a musical life since, started singing and performing at a very tender age. Subsequently, She started her career singing in Church.
Shura signed a record deal with Stevens Music in 2016 and gained prominence in 2018 after releasing “Allez Dire“. A song that got her nominated for Best Revelation of the Year at The Prestigious Balafon Music Award in 2018 of which she won.
Shura Tatiana is from the Ngemba Tribe, from the North-West Region of Cameroon, precisely Akum Village. Shura did her primary, secondary, and high school education in Yaoundé where she had her ordinary and advanced level certificate. She also has a Nursing degree from Mount Zion Nursing School.
Shura is Afrima Awards, Canal d’Or, Green Light Awards, Balafon Awards Nominee. She is popularly referred to as the “Shura Mama” and known for her un-matched autochthonous Ngemba lyrics, exhilarating music, edgy style, evolving Grassroots style tribal descent.
Shura has recorded hit singles “Allez Dire” “Dis Moi Tout, “Tranquil, “Nyamangoro, Another, Run, “Shattered”, “Te be kwih” “Gweme bo za”, “Atalaku”, “Viola Moi”, which made waves in Cameroon and French Africa. She draws inspiration from Manu Dibango, Kareyce Fotso, Charlotte Dipanda, Asa, Adele, Sia. Has done international Collabos with Serge Beynaud and Sidiki Diabate. In 2019 she headlined The Johnny Walker Mega Concert with Rapper Jovi and Nigerian Superstar Tekno.
To complement her musical style, Shura has created an image that includes African-inspired outfits, and a variety of Hairstyles.
She left Stevens Music in May 2021 following the expiration of her contract. Shura Tatiana is planning on releasing her first highly anticipated studio album soon. The title and date are not yet known, but from her recent social media posts, it may be close. This reawakening will be very exciting, it will be nice to see friendly competition between the women in the music industry. Hope she’s got her groove back.
