Cameroonian-Born German football player Youssoufa Moukoko to appear as the youngest player at the upcoming FIFA world cup in Qatar just at17 years old. Youssoufa Moukoko was born in Cameroon and lived with his grandparents in Yaounde the political capital of Cameroon. In 2014 he moved to Germany to be with his father. At the age of 9 years, Moukoko started his career at FC St Pauli U13 team from 2014-2016 during which he scored 23 goals in 13 games.
Moukoko at 11 years old later moved to Borussia Dortmund youth academy and at 13 years old he played for Borussia Dortmund’s U17 team in the Bundesliga U17 league. Moukoko at age 16 was promoted to Borussia Dortmund‘s first team and made his first appearance as a substitute for Erling Haaland in the 83rd minute on November 21, 2020.
This outstanding performance, attracted interest from both his country of origin Cameroon, and his adopted Country Germany to represent them at the upcoming FIFA world cup in Qatar. Despite the several attempts made by Cameroonian football federation to lure the young lad into the lion’s den, Moukoko decided to represent Germany which he represented at the under 16 and under 21 levels. This call up puts Moukoko as the youngest player at the FIFA world cup, Qatar 2022. Germany will kick start their journey in group E by taking on Japan on Wed 23th, 2022
