Popular Nollywood Actress Ada Ameh has died, the popular character in The Johnsons died at the age of 48 after years of struggling with mental health. She died in a hospital in Delta state on Sunday, July 17. Actress Ada Ameh was born on May 15, 1974, in Ajegunle, Lagos.
The President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, confirmed her passing to LIB. She was said to have been a guest of an oil company’s top shot and his family in Delta state when she suddenly slumped during a gathering. She was rushed to the hospital where she was confirmed dead.
The past years had been very tough times for the actress. Whom before 2020, had lost six of her siblings. And on October 20, 2020, Ada Ameh lost her only child, a beautiful daughter whom she gave birth to at age 14. She also lost her 30-year-old daughter Aladi Godgift, who had died after an unsuccessful surgery in Abuja.
Some months ago in June, the Nollywood superstar mentioned that she had been battling a mental illness for some time now. But speaking on a Television program, she had said: “Everything is going to be fine. I have an issue right now, and it’s taking my life. I will not die. We will get over it.”
The popular actress even shared a video of her eating with the family around 12:53 pm on Sunday on her official Instagram page.
Ameh rose to prominence following the role of Anita in the Zeb Ejiro movie titled ‘Domitilla’ in 1996. And is also famous for her comic characters, especially in the series The Johnsons.
