When Nollywood Actor, Chidi Mokeme was given the mic, he pointed out that; “As Africans we need to support each other. I am dedicated to helping the industry, to helping it grow”. Looks like these words didn’t sit well in Kang Quintus ears.

Kang Quintus on stage openly distrespected the two Nollywood Actors. In his own words following a video that circulated the net;

“I want to say this, as a Cameroonian I don’t believe that there is anybody superior. Nigeria has done a lot for Africa, Cameroon has done a lot for Africa. I don’t think we can say that Cameroon film industry need support. We don’t need support, we need collaboration and mutual respect… I will not sit somewhere and see our hard work as an industry be put down the drain. We need Nigeria, Nigeria needs us. We need Nollywood, Nollywood needs us.”

The movie director is currently under series of criticisms  from many Cameroonians who see his act as pure disrespect and lame. Several public figures too have given their take on the subject. And most  of them openly criticize  Kang Quintus for being arrogant, disrespectful and proud. Condemning the manner at which he spoke in the presence of veteran Nollywood actor, Zack Orji.

Among all the numerous critics, was that of Social media influencer Delly Singha, she writes;Nevertheless, In a recent live video on Facebook, Kang Quintus tendered an apology to the producer of the freshly premiered movie “Bamboozler“, Dr Belinda Babila. He admitted his inappropriate behavior during the premiere. He also implored people to come to Hotel La Falaise Ave Merechal Yaounde to show support for the second premiere. Not forgetting that Kang Quintus supported the event with 500,000 frs.

He said:

“Dr Bella, I apologize for everything that happened at your premiere. I apologize on a personal level but I just want you to understand that, If I wasn’t invited on stage, you know I wouldn’t do that. I came there with the right intentions. I came there to show you love and that’s all I believe in. I believe in love, I believe in support”

The Cameroon film industry (CFI), on it’s part distances it self from Kang Quintus utterances during the world premiere of the Movie BAMBOOZLER. Following a press release, CFI calls on Nollywood to ignore what it terms isolated views and opinions of the filmmaker.
