Indomitable Lion Captain Choupo-Moting’s father reveals why Joël Matip Refuses to Rejoin the National Team

Most Cameroonians seem not to know why the Liverpool starting center back Joël Matip player hasn’t been playing for the indomitable lions for over three years now.

Well, recently during an interview with Radio Sport Info on July 24, Choupo-Moting reports that the Matip was outraged by the decision of the former president of FECAFOOT to sanction all those who refused to compete in the CAN in 2017.

Just Choupo-Moting, the father of the captain of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting believes he knows the real reason why Joël Matip refuses to join the indomitable lions. On Radio Sport Info (RSI) July 24, he reveals former president of the Federation of Cameroon Football Association (FECAFOOT) Tombi A Roko Sidiki, had decided to Sanction players for refused to defend the colors of Cameroon including Joël Matip who later decided to leave the selection.

“It really hurt all of these players. Everyone was scared, everyone shook. They said to themselves: “But if we don’t go to the CAN why do you want to spoil our career? So what’s the point of coming back to play in this country?
