Ever since Samuel Eto’o was elected and installed as the new boss of the federation of Cameroonian football (FECAFOOT), he has made numerous changes within the organization that have in a very short time period impacted the face of Cameroonian football positively and have led to enormous praises from lovers of the game across the nation and the international federation of world football (FIFFA) who heaped praises on the former indomitable lion’s forward for his great job in such a short time. Samuel Eto’o and Yannick Noah are great Cameroonian sporting icons in their respective disciplines.
However, it is also noted that some of his decisions have caused lots of friction and disagreement between some stakeholders who are against his decisions. The most recent is that of the president of the Federation of Cameroon football Mr. Sameuel Eto’o fils and Tennis Legend Yannick Noah.
It is recalled that Yannick Noah who is a stakeholder with Le Coq Sportive, a French sports equipment company, masterminded the signing of its sponsorship with FECAFOOT headed by then president of the federation Seidou Mbombo Njoya.
After the election of Samuel Eto’o as president to replace Seidou Mbombo Njoya, the newly elected president was not satisfied or impressed with the efficiency of the French sporting equipment Le Coq Sportive which he termed bridge of clauses labeled in the contract which includes late payments into the coffers of the federation. With this effect, Mr. Samuel Eto’o decided to terminate the contract and Le Coq Sportive was mid-this year replaced with One All Sport.
Ever since these changes were made, Le Coq Sportive has been threatening the Cameroonian football federation with a lawsuit over the bridge of the contract. For a while, now Yannick Noah and his partners have been struggling to see that this decision made by Mr. Samuel Eto’o be reserved but the boss stood his ground.
Recently Jeune Afrique reports in its publication of September 19, 2022, another friction between The president of the Federation of Cameroonian football (FECAFOOT) and still Yannick Noah over the non-respect of an agreement that was signed by Fecafoot former president Seidou Mbombo Njoya in favor of Yannick Noah. This agreement signed was to award an envelope of 500 million FCFA to Yannick Noah for the financing of his concerts during the Afcon 2021 organized in Cameroon in January 2022. It was reported that after the election of Eto’o as president, he didn’t want to have anything to do with that, reason being that the annual budget allocated for FECAFOOT had no room for this kind of event.
