Tension escalates in Dchang after a fire at the CPDM party secretariat was set ablaze by unidentified individuals late this evening.
According to sources on the ground, the fire broke out suddenly, engulfing the building before local residents could intervene. While the cause of the fire remains unclear, witnesses say it appeared to be a deliberate act.
Reports has it that the situation became so tense that the prefect, magistrates, and ELECAM officials have reportedly taken refuge inside Dschang’s central prison after being evacuated from the courthouse by security forces.
So far, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the incident, and local authorities are yet to release an official statement. Security forces have since been deployed to the area to prevent further unrest as investigations continue.
