Daphne, Mr. Leo, Wax Dey, Laura Onyama Converge On Yaounde To Celebrate Int’l Youth Day

The celebration of the 2020 edition of the International Youth Day in Cameroon yesterday, August 12, brought together some of Kamer’s finest celebrities including singers Mr. Leo, Daphne Njie, Wax Dey, and Actress Laura Onyama in a conference at the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education.

The conference which was chaired by the Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou aimed at coming up with strategies to protect and sustain the environment as well as ensuring better health and life for Cameroonians.



Surely, there couldn’t have been any better way to pass across the message to the youths than to bring some of these celebrities on board whom the young people in Cameroon follow and get inspiration from daily.



Shortly after the conference, Actress Laura Onyama through her social media platform called on youths and Cameroonians as a whole to use this edition of the International Youth Day as a challenge to fight against climate change and ensure the protection of wildlife.

“Today was a start point of a mighty project on the need for the fight against climate change and the protection of wildlife.
Together with the #ministerofyouthaffairsandciviceduction, the president of the #nationalyouthcouncil,#WWF (World wildlife fund for nature)we are getting closer to a dream come true, where we (youths ) are empowered to create awareness on the importance of protecting the environment we live in.
As we celebrate the international youth day this year, let’s take this up a challenge to protect our environment, keep it friendly for better health and a better life.

The International Youth Day is celebrated yearly on August 12 across the globe. It gives an opportunity to celebrate and mainstream young peoples’ voices, actions, and initiatives, as well as their meaningful, universal, and equitable engagement. This year, it was celebrated under the theme “Youth Engagement for Global Action.”
