COQ Sportif Sues FECAFOOT 10Billion FRS as Compensatory Damage

The French sports equipment company is hoping to claim a damage of 9 billion, 825 million FCFA

COQ Sportif is suing the Cameroon Football Federation (FECAFOOT) over bridge of contract.    In a press release issued on the 2nd of August, Coq Sportif started that the sue is as a result of FECAFOOT unilaterally terminating the equipment supplier contract, they have had since the 10th of January 2020. The French sports equipment company is hoping to
claim a damage of 9 billion, 825 million.

Coq Sportif also stressed on the fact that all their efforts to make amends with FECAFOOT have fallen on deaf ears. Nevertheless,  Fecafoot still went ahead to terminate their contract before the actual year 2023. In essence, Coq Sportif binds Cameroon to use their kit during the World cup, lest pay compensatory damages.

In a letter, the President of Coq Sportif stated:

“We inform you that we are suing the Cameroon Football Federation, with a view to obtaining the continuation of its contractual commitments until the natural expiry of our contract, i.e. December 31, 2023.”
