Athlete Muluh Sonita Puts Cameroon On The Map With Her Wins At The Powerlif Western European Championship

Cameroonian athlete Muluh Bright Sonita participated in the Powerlif Western European Championship in Luxembourg emerged the winner. This is another big win for the country in the field of sports and athletics.

Wikipedia defines Powerlifting as a strength sport that consists of three attempts at maximal weight on three lifts: squat, bench press, and deadlift. As in the sport of Olympic weightlifting, it involves the athlete attempting a maximal weight single-lift effort of a barbell loaded with weight plates.
The Cameroonian Athlete later took to her Facebook page to announce her win on the 4th of September, where she further gave a recap of the Western European Championship in Luxembourg and how she performed as followed; Deadlift 240kg, Squat 200kg +5kg pr, Bench press 100 +2,5kg competition pr, Total 540kg
It should be noted that Miss Sonita won overall best lifter and set a new official European deadlift record in the +84 set and it’s worthy to note that this was her first-ever championship. She stated that she had been dealing with a hip and back injury for about two weeks prior to the competition which affected her training greatly, and she only hopes it gets better as she looks forward to greater things.
