Doctors at the Bamenda Regional Hospital tried in vain to save the life of the American citizen who had received a bullet in the head in the late morning of Tuesday. Caught in a Crossfire amid fighting between armed separatists and soldiers in northwestern Cameroon.
Charles Trumann Wesco finally died from a gunshot wound. According to local sources, Charles Trumann Wesco is an American missionary arrived in Cameroon on October 18, 2018, with his wife and 8 children.
The victim was reported to have received first aid at the Nkwen Subdivision Health Center in Bamenda before finally settling in the regional hospital in the same city where he died.
The missionary’s brother is Indiana state Rep. Tim Wesco, who confirmed that his older brother had been killed. “He loved the Lord. He loved people. The Lord giveth. The Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord,” he said.
This is not the first time the Cameroonian army fired on a foreign missionary. Pastor Isaac Attoh, a Ghanaian missionary, was brutally murdered in Batibo on Saturday, July 14, 2018.
