Indomitable Lions goalkeeper André Onana has been ranked 3rd best African keeper on FIFA 2023 video game.
African goalkeepers have managed to break barriers over the last couple of decades to be recognised alongside their European and foreign counterparts. This has trickled down to new goalkeepers joining the international football springing out of Africa.
And this time around, Cameroon’s goalkeeper alongside other nine African goalkeepers have been ranked on FIFA’s 2023 video game. Cameroon’s and Inter’s André Onana comes 3rd with a rating of 82.
Andre Onana was named as the next big thing when it comes to goalkeeping in Cameroon and Africa at large. As he rose to prominence with Ajax in the Eredivisie in 2018.
Meanwhile, the 1st African keeper in this rank is Senegalese and Chelsea keeper Édouard Mendy with an overall rating of 86. The 2nd is Moroccan and Sevilla keeper Yassine Bounou with a rating of 84.
