When it comes to media and innovation awards in Cameroon, The Bonteh Digital Media Awards stands out as one of the first. It might not be very popular yet, but it’s gradually gaining grounds.
There are very few events with potentials of getting everyone engaged; digitally and offline. #BDMA2018 stands out as those few events gaining the heart and minds of media, digital and entertainment stakeholders.
Financial observers and that of the organizing committee of the BDMA estimates that this year’s event is expected to pump 43,000,000 FCFA into the economy. Sounds weird?
The question is, how will this be possible?
It’s worth mentioning that 1000 people are expected to attend this year’s prestigious gathering to witness the glitz and glamour of the night.
That said, 1000 people getting designer wears for the event at least cost of 25,000 FCFA a piece will give a total of 25,000,000 FCFA that could be generated from dresses (designers, clothing line owners make sure you seize this opportunity).
Another part of this income will be gotten from lodging of attendees.
People will leave from all parts of Cameroon for La Falaise Diamond Bonanjo on the 19th of December 2018 to witness the second edition of the Bonteh Digital Media Awards. Those who won’t have friends or relatives to welcome them will need to lodge in hotels. And if we take the least cost of 20,000 FCFA a night for 500 persons (give or take, some people based in Douala may decide to sleep in hotels) it gives us 10,000,000 FCFA hotels will make.
There are just so many income streams which will benefit the economy, is it transportation? feeding, event coverage, logistics from sponsors, partners and lots more. We can bill this at roughly 8,000,000 FCFA
That gives us a total of 43,000,000 FCFA. What are your thoughts?
